About
My clay story really began at the age of four when I discovered a seam of sticky yellow clay in the ground when my parents were landscaping our steep back garden on the outskirts of Bath. My Father handed me a piece and suggested that I make something and so began my fascination.
There was never any question about the direction that my career would take as I was always going to be an art teacher and following four wonderful years at Exeter University I began a teaching career that would bring me the greatest joy for the next 30 years. Needless to say, ceramics was front and centre in the curriculum.
Since leaving teaching I have been able to focus upon developing my own style and combining my two passions, ceramics and the natural world. I have a small studio in the garden of our New Forest home from where my husband and I walk our greyhounds. The hedgerows and fields of this uniquely beautiful landscape continue to provide my ongoing inspiration.
